Hi, my name is Eric Hung. Welcome! I’m a multidisciplinary designer living in the amazing city of Austin, Texas.
From my training as an architect, I have studied the rhetoric about form versus function. I understand that good design leverages both form and function to maximize users experience, or UX, in a given context. For the user centric designer, the design process begins with the end users—knowing their backgrounds, their needs, and their desires. UX design encompasses interaction design, usability, information architecture, content strategy, and more; it is all of these things—carefully considered, tested, and optimized.
Good design is good UX and good design is good business.
Web design is all about communication. Like other forms of communication, it can be simple or complex, fun or urgent or evocative. Is it trustworthy; is it inviting? Does it have the proper tone; is it ready to address a broad audience across multiple devices? More than anything, communication should be clear so that people can be connected to the things they are looking for. How would you like your website to speak on your behalf?
Oh, I’m not afraid to hand-code responsive, validated HTML5 websites either.
Designing responsively for all devices is simply good UX. Not only do you help people access what the need regardless of their screen size, location, or device type, but data shows that responsive design increases conversion rates for ALL devices, not just mobile devices! So who wouldn’t want their sites beautiful and accessible across all devices?
I could probably give you some statistic here, but we all know that people are using multiple devices to access content more and more.

I’m a multidisciplinary designer and problem solver who believes that good design should be experiential. Good design is impactful- whether emotionally, socially, functionally, economically, or the thousand other ways... I am always seeking to learn, create, and refine my craft. I believe that we are each the sum of our inspirations, and I hope I can share my sum with you.
